Water Temperature & Body, Influence on Fishing in Autumn
Autumn has come. People consider that there is abundant food in the nature. Every creature seizes the chance to replenish nutrient in the summer, no matter human or fish. For bass, they also need to take in food to store energy for the coming winter. People think that fishing bass in autumn is quite easy. Because bass has strong desire to food. It will not miss any potential food. Someone even thinks that it will bite a shoe. However, fishing bass in autumn is not easy at all.
Firstly, we should notice the water temperature in fishing area. Variation of water temperature may differ from each other around the world.
In autumn, the spot of direct sunlight gradually moves southward. After autumnal equinox, the spot of direct sunlight will cross through equator and sunlight will irradiate the southern hemisphere. In the terms of the northern hemisphere, angler of sunlight lowers gradually. In autumn, temperature in the morning is lower compared with that in summer, so is water temperature. For water temperature reducing, dissolved oxygen in the water increases. Bass needs to store energy in autumn. So, in the morning, their activities focus on some wider water area.
In this area, target fishes hunted by buss also concentrate relatively. They also need to feed. The temperature in this area is higher and there is more food for being taken in. For deeper area they staying previously, there is less food due to low temperature. In addition, some plants are existing in shallow water and small creatures are falling to the water due to wind or rain. Food and dissolved oxygen are more abundant in those areas. Moreover, water temperature in autumn is not as high as in summer. It is not strange that creatures gather in the area coincidentally.
No matter on land or in the water, animals transfer with seasonal changes and their own demands, forming food chain. Basses also come to here, following their food. There is no a standard fishing regulation, for differences between areas and its own features in autumn. Sudden bursts of temperature are common in autumn. Temperature variation differences are more obvious in autumn. In summer, rainy, windy and thunder have little influence on air and water temperature. If you feel cold today, you may think that water temperature is also low in somewhere. Fishes also swim from deep area to swallow area, in terms of inertial thinking. This is not the case in fact. Transition rate of water is much lower than air. The temperature on water surface may be cold, however, the transition is not so much in deep area. Basses are quite familiar with that. So they may still stay in deep area, following regulations in summer, particularly in September and October.
Water body in areas is different, no matter in artificial water and natural water. Water may be clean in somewhere while muddy in others. Is the transition also different in clean water and muddy water, when temperature changes? Differences are affirmatively existing.
In clean water, transition rate of water temperature is lower than that in muddy water. So, when you are fishing in clean water, you may think that basses still stay in deep area. In muddy water, situations may be different. Firstly, sunlight cannot reach to deep area. So, water temperature and dissolved oxygen are lower than that in clean water. Basses must take action, transferring to swallow area, such as inner bay. Besides high temperature, there is abundant food.
When we are fishing in autumn, swallow area in inner bay, junction between swallow and deep area should be considered. Deeper area also should be considered. Target location is commonplace. You should focus on some complex locations, for example fallen stump, leafs, rocks or some artificial objects. In artificial areas, water inlet of reservoir is also a good choice. There is no lack of nutrients and food.
Fishing order should follow your own manners and current situation. Constant trial is necessary. For example, small crankbait, or spinnermait can be used for shallow or inner bay, buzzbait for areas covered by shelters, jig, swimbait and Texas jig for complicated areas having obstacles.
The above strategies are applicable for low water temperature. If water temperature is high, VIB, crankbait and Carolina jigs are considered for wider areas, spinnerbait, crank, jig or other topwater lures for obstacles.
